ABOUT US

The Lightning Letter is about to begin its third year at Legacy High School. Our club consists of dedicated and passionate students who wish to share their writing/art with their peers. The Lightning Letter reaches across all groups and interests, publishing anything from sports to news to photography to comics. By joining, students gain real-life experience in a journalistic setting; they also become more familiar with happenings around the school. If you have a voice that you want others to hear, or have a passion for writing, photography, or comics, then this is the club for you.

For its first 2 years, this publication was online. This year, the club is excited to announce that it's moving to print; during remote learning, the publication will be an e-letter to minimize the spread of COVID-19. The Fall Issue will be released around late October.

Updates

The Lightning Letter is moving to the classroom! Beginning in the second semester of the 2020-2021 school year, Legacy will be offering a Newspaper-Journalism class for grades sophomore and up. The club will continue to run alongside the class, providing a place for freshman to get the hang of writing for a high-school level publication and for other students to get involved in the newspaper if they are unable to attend the class for any reason.

Our first meeting is on September 8th! Mark the date in your calendar.

Due to the unique situation of the 2020-2021 school year, our club will be hosting meetings online for the foreseeable future. If you have questions or wish to express interest, contact information will be listed below.
